I am a Danish economist who graduated from Copenhagen University in 1976 and received my Danish doctorate in 2002. I have done research primarily on the Danish financial system, financial crises, and international economics. Besides books and articles within my main subjects, I have written also about the Danish political process as well as on historical issues.

 

From 1976 to 1990, I worked with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Ministry of Economy, including as financial attaché at the Danish Permanent EU Representation and as personal assistant to the Minister of Economy. From 1990, I have worked at the Copenhagen Business School, CBS.  Over the years, I have served as a member of several government committees and commissions.

I will retire from the end of 2019, but will still active and busy with new projects. In 2020 I will publish two new books. I find it important that social scientists contribute to society, including through the partication in public debates.
